Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense

We train for control, not conquest. Self-defense begins long before hands are involved.

The order of operations

  • Awareness — notice the situation early.
  • De-escalation — words, posture, and distance do most of the work.
  • Disengagement — leaving is a win.
  • Escape — if you are grabbed or taken down, get up and get out.
  • Control — restraint used only when protecting yourself or someone else.

The guardrail

Ephesians 6:12 keeps this straight: our struggle is not against flesh and blood. People are not the enemy. Discipline makes strength trustworthy — strong enough to protect, humble enough to tap.

Instructional videos are educational and are not a substitute for supervised training. Do not practice submissions or takedowns without qualified coaching and a consenting partner.
